He Said She Said v.2

The insanity continues...

Me: "Hey do you want to go outside or what?"
Jake: "What."

After Jake lets out a bunch of farts:
Me: "Was that you farting?"
Jake: "Maybe a little bit mommy, a little tiny bit."

Dr. Nails still hung up on the unicorn thing:
"I can't believe people don't believe there were unicorns, what the hell do they think a narwhale is?!
Yeah, there's giant fish with a horn but it's impossible for horses to have them? Come on!"

Jake after soaking his pants, socks and even filling his rain boots with pee:
"I pee outside like Hannah!!"

We were on our way home speeding along at about 80kph
Dr. Nails while driving, both hands on the wheel and wearing sunglasses: "Look at that!"
Me frantically looking left then right then back again: "Where? What?"
Dr: "Man you're bad at that, you should practise."

J: "I need wash my hands"
Me: "Why?"
J: "I hab pee on dem."
of course. why else?

After a day of botched conversations between myself and the dear Dr:
Dr Nails: "communication between us it at an all-time low."
In order to avoid any more confusion I simply nodded my agreement.
Unfortunately he wasn't looking at me....

But hey, here's looking at you : )

Disclaimer:  All conversations were in jest, no feelings were harmed in the making of this blog post.

Hey, We've Been Busy

It's been busy out in the sticks lately, and i am not here as often as i'd like!
Hopefully the exhaustion will ease off soon, and i will be able to get more done that just nap
(although napping rocks my socks).

In the mean time, remember a long time ago when i mentioned the school for smart kids?

Yeah um, we expect them to come knocking any day now : )
Not only is he cute, but he eats with chopsticks too.
(and that rocks socks too)

Living on the Edge

Lately we've entered the climbing phase.  Really not my favorite, though i think it might be his : )

Places that used to be safe are safe no longer.
Things that used to be out of reach are suddenly at hand, and nothing is sacred.
This is one of those things that nobody tells you before you have kids - your stuff is no longer your own.
If you cannot find a place for it out of the way, it will be tasted, sampled, tried, thrown, torn, hidden, eaten, ruined, used, abused,
and completely at the mercy of those precious little hands.

It's a good thing those hands are indeed so precious, and that little face so loveable...

At least one of us is having fun ; )

Who, Me?

I love the 'i didn't do it' look on his face.
Why do i get the feeling that i will be seeing a lot of that face in the years to come?

The 'B' Sides v.4

It's not my fault he likes to help...

: )

What's the 'b' sides you ask?  A project dedicated to all things ridiculous, awkward, and unconventional.
An ode to the silly things i do to my poor poor child.  I hope he will forgive me one day.

Ready or not....

...here I come!

Just tunnelling around.

Things have been busy around here, as i'm sure they are around everywhere.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
Now on to the new year!

Amazing how time is just flying by, it blows my mind.
I feel like i need to make everyone stop for a few minutes so i can catch up,
and a certain someone needs to stop growing ; )
The other day i had one of those holy-sh#t! moments when i realized i have a 13 month old.
I also realize i shouldn't say sh#t! anymore.
(I'm totally going to be THAT mom, who's kid swears all the time and get's booted out of playschool)

I might make a resolution or two this year,
which may or may not include an overhaul of my vocabulary...
Whatever, they never stick anyways.
Homeschooling here we come.

Stuff my mom taught me.

If you don't have anything nice to say,

don't say anything at all.

Happy Friday everyone

Jake's Turn

This week - the Little Bit's favorite things to do!

disclaimer:
For some reason most of these are really not my favorite things that he does;
I prefer the snuggly moments, the times when he plays quietly by himself, the funny little noise he makes when he knows food is near, and especially those big open-mouthed kisses he's been giving me lately. sigh.

oh well, i'm guessing the word 'no' was invented for children...
'cause man oh man am i ever using it these days!

Grabbing at my sunglasses, or my hair, or my necklace....

Chasing the roomba, and hammering on it with his fists when he 'catches' it.
It's actually pretty funny watching the vaccuum go around him like he was a piece of furniture,
and it kinda occupies him for a while. hmmm, not so bad really.

Reading books in his 'outdoor playpen' - aka two benches pushed together.
I guess there's nothing really wrong with this, except that he eats the books more than reads them.
But i'm thinking you'll appreciate our ingenuity on this one.

Splashing in the Hannah Dog's water dish.
Really not my favorite - but he LOVES it.  Let's just hope Hannah doesn't lay the smack down. For real.

This is just funny. he makes me laugh ALL the time.

Trying to play his Daddy's guitar, or the huge metal bongo drum beside it.
Either of which could potentially fall on him and break, thus creating a vast musical void in the house.
oh, and it might hurt.

Have a fabulous weekend!

How I Roll

Some babies do things one way.

I, on the other hand, like to be different.
I walk on the wild side,
live on the edge.
Wild man.

And that my friends,
is how I roll.

Throw your fingers up if you're feeling me.

Sometimes it makes me wonder

What is going on around here?
Dr. Nails must not have read my previous post why daddy, why.
If he had I'm sure he would have remembered that our
precious children are NOT toys.
However, I turn my back for just one minute...

I suppose it could be worse,
I could have posted the photo of Jake holding the beer can.
Then again,

 it's not like Dr. Nails actually let him drink it :}

Why Daddy, Why?

I am not a toy.
I repete, I am NOT a toy.

Pink is definitely not my color.

I do not dance.

And I have no idea what you are talking about.

But I certainly do have a beautiful belly.

And despite all this,

I certainly do love my dad.

Awwww : )
