Is it Spring yet?

We all know that Mother Nature doesn't pay any attention to our calendar,

so when we decided spring 'arrived' last week, she promptly laughed in our faces and let it snow.

Today, however, feels decidedly spring-like. (although i wouldn't put it past her to snow on us again...)

 And so, i am going to say buh-bye to winter...

What really went on this winter:

New life was breathed into old places. The dog ate pucks. And infants played hockey. 

We are, after all, Canadian : )
Thanks for the memories winter, now beat it!!!

One Man's Trash....

We all know how the saying goes, but around here we might really believe it.

You could not imagine the stuff we find on the side of the road, from dressers, old chairs and couches
to baby swings, ride on toys and big wheels.

But when Dr. Nails came home with this even i was impressed.

Note the chains on the tires; unlike most of the Little's toys, this bad boy can handle our back road terrain...

...ahem...among other things. (hi uncle K!)

Now we just have to convince Jakie's little girl friend from up the road to come over for a ride : )

Whatever it is, its pretty damn funny :)

Now, Dr Nails was a little upset that i was posting photos of the Little on his auntie's pink tricycle.
Personally I think it's rad, regardless what color it is, and he was soooooooo happy : )
But it's nothing a little steel wool and a fresh coat of paint can't fix!

Snow Day!

I am one of those annoying people who actually likes winter.

There, i said it.  I like winter.

The snow, the crispy clean air, the sports, the way the sun reflects off fresh snow.

Dig. it. all.

Talk to me in February and i'll be honest, my tune might have changed.

But when that first snowfall starts, and those perfect little flakes start a-fallin',

i can't help but get that happy little feeling way down inside : )

Seeing as this was the Little's first real snowfall, 

(he was too little last year to really appreciate the awesomeness)

I got him geared up and, much to the Hannah Dog's delight, out we went...

 The best part?  It finally feels like winter : )

The Big Swim

And a bunch of other stuff we did on the weekend....

There was of course, our big day out at the pool:

The Little, who by the way looked dashing in his new swimmers,

took the whole ordeal very seriously. 

After a few initial lip quivers and a minute to get used to the cold, he seemed to like it. 

(I think, although he wouldn't say)

We made some new friends via the Great Nannies:

And someone's shoe collection increased.

( yes, he has a shoe collection, and there's even more of them! )

Dr. Nails was out to impress with his super sniper skills:

And the boys had fun hamming it up on the couch:

All in all it was another great weekend, with plenty of action and adventure, 

and lots and lots of love and laughter.

It's Friday!

I love fridays, almost as much as I used to when I was working.

It means Dr. Nails will be home with us,

we miss him all week long : )

This weekend we have big plans:

Yup, I'm going to brave the dreaded bathing suit.

Adventures in the pool bath tub

I had a hard time with this post.

I was tempted to call it 'Why Daddy, Why' part 2.

But that just didn't quite fit, he actually looked kind of happy.

Although that could have just been the way his wetsuit 

scrunched his face up all funny.

 The two of them really were just too cute,

and I thank Dr. Nails for the day he agreed to buy this huge tub for us.

Now he finally sees the light...

I said I wouldn't share it,
but I suppose every now and then I can bend the rules,
especially for a little guy like him who brings so much laughter into my world.

Fun for Friday

One might wonder what this stay-at-home mom does all day.

One might not, but I'm going to tell you anyways.

Well, besides sweeping floors (endlessly), changing countless diapers,

wiping untold amounts of drool, numerous wardrobe changes (both him AND me),

scrubbing dishes, hiding countless loads of laundry behind closed doors,

making delicious things to eat, walking the Hannah Dog,

occasionally getting dressed and making the bed,

and vainly trying to maintain some semblance of sanity in my own mind....

I have

  so.  much.  fun.

How on earth could I not?

Jump it up

The latest and greatest toy to make an appearance in our cosy little home:

The jolly jumper!

Dr. Nails was beside himself,

with talk of first steps and exclaiming that his boy was growing up!

Too fast I might add....

After a few outfit changes and the last strains of 'oh susanna' faded away

 there was time for a splashy bath,

and for the first time ever, I had to clean his feet.

Way Way Way too fast.
