The Last of the Autumn Sunshine

although it is more like winter these days than fall {ugh} i am still hanging on.

fall leaf wreath still hanging on the door, mini pumpkins and those orange Japanese lantern flowers as a centrepiece {intermingled with an ever changing array of dinkies and zippy cups},

and one last can of pumpkin in the cupboard, destined for sugary pumpkiny greatness...

and the pictures! oh the beautiful pictures,

full of gorgeous children doing fabulous fall things...

oh autumn, please don't go.

though my participation in this blog is sparse these days, i am trying not to give up completely!

i have been deliriously happily swamped with photography clients,

and only have so much screen time to give!

Beach Bummin' It

....at long last....

 the fact that i managed to drag a toddler, baby, and dog all the way back to the beach

- on foot might i add - is a feat all in itself.

that the sun was shining, the tide was low, and the beach was sandy

is a beautiful gift from mother nature.

and that nobody - myself included - had a major meltdown

is simply a miracle.

makes me almost think i am kicking the crap out of this 2 kid thing.

but i'm sure at some point tomorrow someone small will prove me wrong : )

Snow Days

It's snowy outside once again today, so i thought before winter says goodbye 

and leaves us to our rubber boots i should put these pics up.

This year was the first Jake really got out in the snow and played :)

Obviously my snowman making skills leave something to be desired.

Frosty stayed all matrix-ed out for at least a week,

melting before his head hit the ground.

Ice is Nice

There are defining moments in our lives.

moments when we simply know we are where we are meant to be, doing what we are supposed to be doing.

This may, or may not, have been one of those. He is, after all, only two,

whether or not he will be the next 'sid the kid' (or even like to play hockey) is yet to be determined.

Either way, the first time out on the ice is totally a big one...

Having grown up in hockey rinks both indoor and out back in Calgary, it might have been a bit of a big deal to me.

And that doesn't begin to describe how huge this was for our dear Dr. Nails, 

who used to play hockey here when he was a kid,

and especially when the dads came out and practiced with their kids.
