Sleep Baby Sleep

I wish i could tell you that the rest of my life is as calm and peaceful as this little dude.
But that would be a big fat lie : )

Happy Friday!

The Little Gets Big

Jakie turns two.

My mind is totally blown that two whole years have passed since this little person came into my life
and swept me off my feet. Oh i love him so....

"Johnny Tractor!!!!"

It seems impossible now that i ever lived without him.

The cake was a screaming success, thanks to Emily for the idea that i totally stole : )
And as you can see, a much better reaction than last year.
( and last year part 2 )

Drumroll Please.....

Introducing.... Baby Boy Two!!!

We are so overwhelmed and excited, that we don't even have a name : )
Little Squish decided to show up a few days early, and much to Dr. Nails' dismay,
right when the santa clause parade was wreaking havoc on downtown traffic.
But that might be a story for another day....

Talk about punch - drunk love.  We're so there....

37 & 38 Week Bump!

A little bit late, but when in my life have i ever been on time?!?!

You may have noticed these past few weeks that my sidekick has completely abandoned the bump project.
Seems he wants very little to do with this baby,
and i'm guessing that's not something that will change in the near future either,
but hey, here's hoping : )

Photo of the Week

Week #36

Due to technical difficulties we are a little behind around here!
My baby, erm, computer went in for a check up/clean up and now nothing is where it's supposed to be,
so please bear with me while i try to sort through the resulting chaos....
I will be back tomorrow with last week's bump update,
two weeks to go!!!!

Mini Pumpkin Donuts

So you guys all know how much i LOVE muffins,
particularily muffins of the fall-pumpkin-cinnaminy persuasion...
...but did you know that you can make donuts but call them muffins?
I may have died and gone to heaven.

These little babies are baked not fried, so they are, erm, good for you.
And you don't need anything special to make them, just a mini muffin pan and a plastic bag.

Simply mix up the batter, put a tbsp or so in each mini muffin cup, and bake away!

Let them cool for a few minutes, then shake them up in a bag filled with delicious cinnamon-sugary goodness.
My only warning is that these must be eaten the day you sugar coat them,
I found out the hard (and sad) way that the sugar coating tends to melt if left for too long : (
The good news is that they are so good not many of them will last long enough for this to happen!

Last but not least,
high five yourself for making donuts that aren't fried and greasy,
and making muffins taste even better than usual : )

23 Months

.....which is almost two years....

The days fly by.
You grow and grow, and the baby i've known fades and fades.
We talk; there is back and forth, answers to questions, acknowledgement, and real understanding,
all voiced in a perfect little bitty baby voice, punctuated by random yelling, made up words
and so many things only i can understand.
We're speaking the same language.
at last.

I am a little sad that the days of just us are almost over,
and i am doing my best to cherish and savour every last minute of it.
Soon i'll have to start calling you "the Big"
as you're moving up in the food chain around here.
But you'll always be my baby...

In the Jungle

The lion roars tonight : )

We were lucky the rain held off, there wasn't a single meltdown,
and much to my delight ahem, dismay there is sooo much candy!!!
We managed quite a few houses, considering each stop was at least a 20 minute visit:
which is one of the joys of living in the country - knowing your neighbours!
Our little lion roared and said 'twik tweet', and i could have died from the cuteness of it all...
