Beat the Heat

Summer is finally here!!

and it's going to be a big one.

mr. big is big enough to do a lot of things this year, so there will be a whole lot of doing going on. 

picnic things, beach things, water game things, fun summer food things, soccer things, 

adventures and ice cream and boats oh my!

Seeing as it has taken so long to get here, we're going to have to cram it all in,

but that's okay, it will all fit...

Beach Bummin' It

....at long last....

 the fact that i managed to drag a toddler, baby, and dog all the way back to the beach

- on foot might i add - is a feat all in itself.

that the sun was shining, the tide was low, and the beach was sandy

is a beautiful gift from mother nature.

and that nobody - myself included - had a major meltdown

is simply a miracle.

makes me almost think i am kicking the crap out of this 2 kid thing.

but i'm sure at some point tomorrow someone small will prove me wrong : )

Breathing Space

I have been playing catch-up all week, and i wonder in awe how working moms do it.

The other day I asked a friend of mine who just recently went back to work 

how she manages to get everything done.

Her answer was simply "I don't"

So on days i'm overwhelmed by piles of laundry and floors that crunch,

i try to take a few minutes to do something with Jake and gain some perspective.

It's easy to see that this little life ain't so bad....

On the Bright Side of the Sun

It occurred to me the other day that I have struck it rich,

totally hit the jackpot, I have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Call it what you want, call me lucky or spoiled.

 I simply like to call it blessed...

Whatever it is, I must have done something right

 to get to look at this every day:

So very pretty, but oh so very early....

No matter the time of day, there's nothing wrong with this view.
