37 & 38 Week Bump!

A little bit late, but when in my life have i ever been on time?!?!

You may have noticed these past few weeks that my sidekick has completely abandoned the bump project.

Seems he wants very little to do with this baby, 

and i'm guessing that's not something that will change in the near future either, 

but hey, here's hoping : )

35 & 36 Week Bump Update

The last month!! 

I cannot wait to fold teeny tiny baby clothes (remember this?!),

have more than two pairs of jeans that fit, finally sleep on my tummy...

and smell that intoxicating baby scent again : )

32 Week Bump!

T-minus 8 weeks!  Ahem, hopefully, erm, maybe?  It has been my experience that babies toddlers people 

never do what you want them to when you want them to do it : )

Um....Awkward.

Awkward Pregnancy Occurrences:

While pregnancy is a many splendored, wondrous and beautiful thing,
there are a few aspects that are mmm, not so glamorous:

When strangers stop you and predict the sex of your baby. Not necessarily awkward for me, as i don't know who's in there, but potentially very awkward for the guesser if the sex is known and they predict wrong. Also just kind of uncomfortable.

Gigantic, earth shattering, body rocking burps.  Please explain?!?!

Having to pee in public bathrooms all the time - due to the endless need to pee, i find myself in places i wouldn't normally frequent i.e. the Walmart bathroom.  I cannot go in there without thinking about the woman in the states(?) who left her baby in the toilet.  Not to mention public bathrooms are kinda gross.

The Pregnancy Waddle.

Going out to eat and trying not to stuff your face (though that's exactly what you want to do) because you think everyone's staring, waiting for the pregnant chick to do exactly that.  Don't become a cliche.

When the baby kicks straight down.

When strangers ask to touch your belly. Um, can i touch yours?  (btw - if you are known to me, rub away)

Having people (ahem, men!) tell you how large you are / are going to be. Yes thanks, I actually hadn't noticed.

Pregnancy halloween costumes. Seriously, Google it (though not suitable for all viewers.)

Peeing when you sneeze.

27 Weeks Bump!

Third Trimester!!!!

Baby, we've got a lot of growing to do : )

26 Week Bump!

Time seems to be flying (for now)!

It's hard to imagine that in give or take three months we will get to meet our new little : )

Hmmm, maybe i should start thinking seriously about this...

25 Week Bump

(my sidekick wasn't so into it this week)

Yes, it is friday night. not Wednesday. or Thursday. or even just Friday.

Friday night. 

But it is better late than never, and though i almost didn't bother, i convinced myself that this is important.

Maybe not right now, when the beach and sunshine are calling out our names and 

sand squishes so delightfully between our toes,

but one day it will mean so much.

Finally i find myself with a few minutes to spare and room to breathe.

After the whirlwind that was July, it is a relief to have time for things like engineering rivers through sand

and watching the sun glint off the waves.

I'm thinking that was were he actually wanted to be : )

24 week Bump Update

There's a super squirmy squishy baby in there!

Yesterday it kicked Dr. Nails in the head when he was trying to talk to it;

I told him it was the first time of many : )

22 Week Bump

Who stole all of the hours in my days?

Between working, shooting a wedding, editing over 1200 photos(!), preparing for another craft fair, catching up with friends, 

afternoon napping, (oh wait, was there napping? um, no. wishful thinking)

and just generally keeping up appearances, there aren't even enough minutes in the day!

I will try to be here more often next week, promise!

21 Week Bump!

I have to admit that this shot doesn't do the bump justice, but that look on his face is priceless!

20 Week Bump

This being on vacation business is hard work : )

I promise things will get somewhat back to normal next week when we get home,

but for the rest of the weekend i am going to soak up Calgary, the Stampede, and my family!

We are half way there!

The baby is the length of a banana now, not sure what size banana though...chiquita anyone?

And I had to cringe? laugh? (though i did think briefly about crying)

when my mom said "so, twice as big as that then!"

whoa mama : )



19 Week Bump!

We are on vacation!  But despite this fact, i still felt the need to post a bumpdate,

for posterity's sake i suppose....

I will be back next week with some of our holiday adventures : )

17 Week Bump!

First off, I would like to say thank you to everyone who commented on yesterday's post.

It makes me feel better to know that i am not the only one dealing with this type of thing!

Of course I certainly hope it was an isolated incident, and I will be the first to say that I have never seen that little boy 

do anything like this before. He actually seems like a nice kid.

(not that I watch him all the time or anything, but I just might start : )

I know that sometimes in the heat of the moment kids get swept up, and when you're three you don't necessarily 

understand that what you are doing is wrong or hurtful.

He just really wanted to ride the car with his buddy, and I am not reading any more into it than that.

It was a bit of a wake-up call though, to the fact that I actually have to start PARENTING.

So far I have been coasting along on my laurels, thinking 'hot damn this mommy stuff is a piece of cake.'

(as if, but we'll just pretend.)  This is a game changer.  This is where making a silly face or singing 'you are my sunshine' just won't cut it anymore, and I have to start thinking about how to react like an ADULT in these situations.

I am so not an adult yet, and so ill-prepared for this!

Anyways, I'm sure the shoe will be on the other foot soon enough, and all I can do is hope that 

my eyes are open to see, and that I can teach the Little how to share and take turns. 

So, moving on to my other little bambino.....

I lost my little buddy again to the nap monster today, but this momma sure isn't complaining about that : )

The baby is the size of a red onion now,
and is definitely doing some backflips and summersaults!

16 Week Bump

I almost didn't do a photo this week, citing shyness and my discomfort with the narcissistic 

nature of posting photos of myself on this blog as reasons not to.

However, after writing a long-winded post on why i didn't want to do this each and every week, 

i finally reasoned with myself long enough and talked myself off of that ledge.

The whole reason i wanted to do this in the first place is for me, so i can print this out and have it to forever 

remind me of this amazing time in my life. I always wished i had done this with my first, 

and i don't want to have that regret again.

So here it is, vain though it may or may not be, camera shy or not.

PS. The baby is already the size of an avocado!
