Meet Me in the Middle

So after weeks of wondering, I can finally see the light.
Now I really get it, and LOVE it!
I feel as though we should start thinking of a name,
not one for the baby, though there's that too,
but one for this house!
Not only is it big but it's beautiful as well,
and I am awed that this amazing design came out of Dr. Nails' head.
Not that I expected any less from him, really. But wow.
Anyways, I'll stop myself there before I get myself into hot water.....

Here's the latest views:

The Top

The Back

And the Front

Now not only do I have to come up with a boys name and a girls name,
but an estate name as well!
Perhaps I should start polling the audience.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Bridging the Gap

This one's for all of you out there who have no idea how this thing
is going to come together.
It's been hard to picture, even for me and I saw the plans!

It is going to be beautiful.

My Dr. Nails has got some skills, what more do I have to say?

The Final Countdown

Yesterday we reached another major milestone,
another miracle in what is proving hopefully to be a long succession of miracles.
6 months!  Only 3 months left to go.
You know what that means - only 91 shopping days left!
This is better than christmas,
the only difference being that we are the only ones celebrating.
Somehow that makes it even better I think......

This is what 6 months looks like to me:

The biggest miracle of all is that I have made it this far,
with what I like to think of as minimum fuss.
Oh sure, there was the time I was reduced to a soggy mess after
spilling soil on my just swept floor,
or the time I pickled beans and they wrinkled,
which left me literally sobbing into my ice cream.

Of course there are going to be those itty bitty incidences,
I'm only female after all,
and truth be told those things just might have reduced me to tears any day of the
week even before I discovered the joys of pregnancy hormones.
Overall though I choose to look back as fondly as possible on these last 6 months,
and I have deemed them a great success.
Fortunately both Dr. Nails and my family doctor concur : )

So many things.....

to say thank you for.

Sometimes in life we stumble upon something so special,
a feeling or experience so exquisite that words alone simply cannot describe it,
for it is larger than any words that we know.

I have that feeling each time I look in the mirror these days,
when I watch Dr. Nails swing a hammer while building our dream house,
and as I stare (with great fascination might I add)
at my belly button whilst it moves seemingly of it's own accord.

I also unexpectedly had one of those experiences recently,
when I was invited to a barbecue that wasn't really a barbecue after all.

Sneaky Sneaky.....

I keep telling myself it's okay that I had NO IDEA what was going on.
Really, It's no big deal.
It's not like I don't have anything else going on in my life right now.
But still........ you would think I'd have a clue!
Fortunately for my ego Dr. Nails had no idea either,
(that's what he tells me at any rate)
so at least I was not alone in my ignorance.

Either way, this experience led to those feelings that don't have words,
and I cannot describe how grateful I am to have people
in my life who would plan an un-barbecue for us,
and that there are other people still who would actually show up.

I know it's not thanksgiving yet, but regardless
I am thankful for the many joys in my life
: )

Raising the Roof

So enough about the things that are lurking inside my head,
at least for a moment or two.
Lets talk about the things that will reside OVER my head instead.

There are things in life that need to be strong,
like Dr. Nails' hands so he can rub my aching feet.
Or like my back will need to be when I pick up my 13 lb. newborn.
But then there are things that need to be stronger,
things that most of us take for granted.
Look up, you have them too......

Fearless or simply crazy?
You be the judge....

The real reason I call him Dr. Nails:

It's amazing anything gets done around here..... : )
