The Great Pumpkin Patch v.2

Each autumn it has become a family tradition to head up to the Annapolis Valley
to the great pumpkin patch in Wolfville.
It might just possibly be my favorite part of fall,
which says a lot as i love pretty much every teeny weeny pumkiny bit of it...

There's so many more photos to come, stay tuned!

Oh - and re-live last year HERE.

!!!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

35 & 36 Week Bump Update

The last month!!

I cannot wait to fold teeny tiny baby clothes (remember this?!),
have more than two pairs of jeans that fit, finally sleep on my tummy...
and smell that intoxicating baby scent again : )

One Man's Trash....

We all know how the saying goes, but around here we might really believe it.
You could not imagine the stuff we find on the side of the road, from dressers, old chairs and couches
to baby swings, ride on toys and big wheels.

But when Dr. Nails came home with this even i was impressed.

Note the chains on the tires; unlike most of the Little's toys, this bad boy can handle our back road terrain...

...ahem...among other things. (hi uncle K!)

Now we just have to convince Jakie's little girl friend from up the road to come over for a ride : )

Wandering into the Weekend

There are a million and one things i should be doing but am not.
Supper isn't going to cook itself, the floors are dirty, and no one else will fold the laundry.
The photos aren't getting edited, websites aren't updated, and obviously no-one else is here blogging.
The baby-to-be doesn't have a name, clean clothes, or even a bedroom yet.
But the weather is fabulous, the sun is still shining, and the leaves are stunning.

And if someone small would rather be outside, heck, who am I to argue?!

Happy Friday!

22 Months

I um, feel like i just did this : ) so i will keep this short and sweet.

As we creep toward the big 2 things are changing faster than ever.
There are moments of clarity, when you totally understand me and i'm like, holy sh*t, you are SO SMART.
Then there are the moments of complete frustration when you blow your top and i struggle not to blow mine.
I am sure both will continue, the light will keep getting brighter and the blow-ups will just get bigger.
That's okay.  While i'm not sure what you are going to throw at me i am always ready to duck.

But i love to watch you learn/eat/sleep/play/read/run, and your many triumphs are mine as well.
You ARE so smart, have gorgeous hair, the best laugh and give the sweetest kisses.
I am wallowing in these last weeks where i have you all. to. myself.

Now holy crap, could you just sleep through the night already?!?!

DIY Finger Paint

The Little is getting to an age where he will sit down and color or play with play dough,
and although he's not yet pumping out the great masterpieces i foresee in his future,
it does actually keep him busy for at least a few minutes at a time.

Being the thrifty crafty kinda girl that i am, i figured i could save a few bucks
and a trip up the road if i made some my own craft supplies.
Thanks to the miracle that is pinterest, i easily found a recipe for finger paint that fit the bill,
and promptly whipped up a batch.

Yes, it was pretty.

Yes it was easy to make.

But paint it was not.  FAIL.

He got upset when it clumped on his fingers,

And decided it was a stupid game.

Too bad i took all these photos thinking how great a blog post this was going to be.

Perhaps he is just a little young. Perhaps i screwed up the recipe. (a rare occurrence, ha!)
But it was just kinda gross and slimy.
So the next day we went up the road and bought some of the real crayola stuff instead,
and while we haven't yet given it a try, i have high hopes that those masterpieces are on their way : )
