Light Up My Life

Recently I ran into a girl at the grocery store who lives nearby.
She commented on hearing the happy sound of hammers coming from
our direction, which surely must mean progress.
I informed her that it was likely our neighbours who were doing all the banging,
as we have far surpassed that stage (and them) and are onto
bigger and better things.

Things that require copious amounts of wire:

All this wire is connected to the light switches:

Which are in turn connected to the light fixtures:

Which will one day light up all these amazing rooms that will soon be our home.

There is also vast amounts of natural light coming in to the upstairs sitting room
from the cute little glass door leading out to the deck.

Better yet, inside the good 'old' part of our lovely little home there is always
a constant parade of things that never cease to light up my life:

Light'er up Dr. Nails ; )

Upstairs Downstairs, with Dog

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting the Hannah Dog,
she is very much a people dog, in fact I often think she IS a person.
She has a broad range of facial expressions, deep emotions,
and a curious number of  noises can emanate from the depts of her hairy being.

She is also often desperate to be with you, and it doesn't matter who you are,
as long as you are human she is there.

So, much to the Hannah Dog's delight Dr. Nails was working on the stairs,
so she can finally climb up to the second floor.
( You would not believe the looks we would get when she couldn't come up with us )

It is fortunate that we have reached this stage for me as well,
as navigating ladders is not necessarily in a pregnant girls' best interest.
Nor does it make her feel the least bit graceful either.
And it often sheds any morsel of dignity that she may be clinging to.

Anyways, now that it is easier to get upstairs,
the newly built deck up there is also much more accessible
to both four legged and two legged creatures.

I can see me spending some time on this deck.
And I do believe Miss Hannah will just be happy to be here with me.

All These Things

Dr. Nails and Co. have been very busy these days,
and things are getting checked off the list.

There are things that divide us:

( aka - the walls )

Things that protect us:

( aka Dr. Nails holding up the entire ceiling!
oh - and that huge beam looks like it's doing something too ; )

Things for us to rest our weary bones on:

( aka the new furniture )

And things that bring us together:

( aka - well, you get the idea. )

And these, my friends, are all of the things that we need.....

Most of these things are perfect just the way they are.
Hopefully though I can do something about that couch : )

What Was He Thinking?!

Sooooo many windows!
I know I know, you pity the fool who has to clean them all.
My only consolation being that I am also the one who gets to look through them,
and this is what I'll see.....

Oh, I'll clean those windows, yes I will.  Happily might I add.
I just hope costco sells windex!

Productivity will Increase...

when the heat abates?
Holy Hannnah!

It has been a very long and very busy week,
and those of you who live out here know how hot it has been as well : (
I have deemed myself one of the lucky ones though,
and decided that being one of the coldest people alive has finally paid off.
They say during pregnancy your body temperature increases by 20%,
which I have decided puts me right up around the same temp as the rest of you,
making me the coolest preggo chick in town : )

Anyways, despite the oppressive heat that
Mr. Earl has sent our way much has gotten done,
unfortunately making Dr. Nails the hottest carpenter in town in the process.
Not that he wasn't to begin with....

Beautiful huh?

I would also like to kiss my cute little garden goodbye,
as there might be nothing left tomorrow.
Damn you Earl!

And while Dr. Nails was busy building beautiful things,
I was busy taking beautiful pictures.
Watch this space for a preview of my shoots!
( shameless plug, i know.  whatevs! )
